Blazing 8s
Blazing 8s is a card game where players match the number or color of the previously played card to discard their hand first. The objective is to be the first to play all your cards and win the round.

For Blazing 8s, I focused on creating a clear, approachable card game interface that felt playful without sacrificing readability. The circular table layout centers attention on the active play area while keeping each player’s avatar and hand state visible at a glance.
Large card treatments, bold suit colors, and simple action prompts ensure players can quickly understand their options—critical in a fast, social party game.

Turn transitions and action feedback were designed to be expressive and easy to follow. Animated arrows, large number callouts (+1, 4, etc.), and directional icons reinforce cause-and-effect without requiring text-heavy explanations.
The goal was to make every play feel obvious and satisfying, even for spectators or first-time players.

The spectator panel and lightweight settings controls were intentionally minimal to avoid distracting from the core card interaction. The interface supports quick entry, quick spectating, and fast rematches—keeping friction low for casual, drop-in play.

Because Blazing 8s is designed for multiplayer sessions, player visibility was a priority. I structured avatar placement, timers, and card counts to clearly communicate whose turn it is and who is under pressure.
Subtle UI indicators (timers, heart icons, spectate controls) support the social experience without cluttering the table.
